Chase Elliott

On Saturday, March 8, 2008, more than 15 years after his father, Bill Elliott, captured the most recent of his five victories at his "home" track of Atlanta Motor Speedway, 12-year-old Chase Elliott became a racecar champion.

Chase captured his first major racing title when he won the championship of the Young Guns division of both the Georgia Winter Series and the Winter Flurry Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) in the #9 ABF Bandolero, capping off a stellar season in which he won 10 of the 12 events and finished no less than third in his first season in the Young Guns division of the Bandolero class.

Chase also set a new Young Guns track record for AMS's Thunder Ring on December 14, 2007, pacing the quarter-mile oval in 16.950 seconds.

"It was fun," Chase said after clinching the championship. "We're just working hard, having a good time. We're moving into a Legends car this summer and just want to keep moving up. I guess my goal is to get to [NASCAR] Cup one day. I would also like to thank ABF for supporting me as I continue moving up through racing. They have been my sponsor since last summer, and I am looking forward to racing for them again this summer and in the future."

Chase's crew chief, his famous father Bill, said he was "tickled to death that nothing fell off the car" during the race. "[Chase] climbed out and said, 'It's junk.' I guess he must have got that from me. But he's doing a good job. Right now, it's just been a good way to spend time with him."

Cindy Elliott, Chase's mother and manager, says, "I tried to deter him when he was younger. I gave him golf lessons, tried to get him involved in baseball. But ever since he's been old enough to talk, he's wanted to be a racecar driver. And he's doing a great job, having a lot of fun. I'm so proud of him."

A development driver for Bill Elliott Racing, Chase will move up from the Bandolero to the Legends class for this summer's Thursday Thunder Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway. ABF then will sponsor Chase as he competes in the green #9 ABF Legends car in the Semi Pro field.

Chase also will compete for the INEX Semi Pro championship in 2008. INEX is the international sanctioning body of the Legends, Bandolero, and Thunder Roadster Cars. Formed in 1995, INEX was developed to promote, organize and sanction Legends Cars, Bandolero, and Thunder Roadster racing across the United States, Canada, and Europe.

In 2007, Chase finished seventh in the final standings of the AMS Thursday Thunder Bandolero Bandits Division. In 10 starts, Chase had two wins, three top fives, and eight top 10s.

Trey Poole

Like his cousin Chase Elliott, Trey Poole is following his famous uncle's footsteps.

ABF is an associate sponsor of the Trey's entry in the Atlanta Motor Speedway Pro Division of the Georgia Winter and Winter Flurry series. After 11 races, Trey has one win, seven top fives, and 11 top 10s. As a result, Trey is second in points.

"It's good that we're running in the top 10 consistently," said Trey.

In 2007, Trey competed in the AMS Thursday Thunder Semi-Pro Series. After 10 starts, he finished sixth in the points, with one win, three top fives, and seven top 10s.

Bill Elliott

"ABF was the perfect company for this program," says Bill Elliott, Chase's father, team owner, crew chief and hero. "They have been very supportive of Chase. He proudly wears his ABF gear around the track and at home, and he understands that he needs that support to continue his racing career. Chase makes some appearances at ABF's NASCAR hospitality events, and the interaction has been great for him. We are definitely looking forward to continuing the relationship between Chase and ABF."

Racing legend Bill Elliott has one of the most distinguished records in NASCAR Cup history. Throughout his career he has radiated a modest and friendly personality that has endeared him to race fans of all ages. From cutting up car bodies in the early days to winning NASCAR's first million-dollar bonus, Bill Elliott has seen and done it all.

Since retiring from full-time driver status after the 2004 season, Elliott has combined his passion for racing with his commitment to family through the Bill Elliott Racing Driver Development Program with son Chase and nephew Trey Poole.
