ABF U-Pack Moving

Introduced in 1997, U-Pack is an innovative way of moving residential and business belongings cross country in combination with commercial freight. It’s a self-load moving option offering the economy of rental truck moving and the convenience of full-service moving.

U-Pack is a popular choice for do-it-yourself consumers, as well as corporate, institutional, and military relocation specialists seeking a safe, dependable, and hassle-free moving option. For a typical U-Pack move, ABF delivers an empty 28-foot trailer or mobile container at the customer’s home. The customer has up to four days to load. Then ABF drives and delivers the trailer or container to the destination, where the customer unloads before ABF retrieves it.

U-Pack trailers are 28 feet long, eight feet wide, and nine feet tall. Trailer rates are based on linear feet, so consumers pay only for the space used. U-Pack mobile containers are six feet long, seven feet wide, and eight feet high—big enough for a room’s worth of furnishings, yet small enough to fit neatly into a parking space.

The Web Marketing Association awarded U-Pack a 2005 WebAward, naming upack.com the Best Institutional Services Website. The website provides online tools and information needed to plan a long-distance move. It’s a resource for consumers to obtain quotes and schedule and track their moves. It’s also a source for moving supplies, information, and referrals for labor, auto transport, and moving insurance. An online order form offers consumers a free informational DVD on packing, moving, and the U-Pack moving experience.
